Controversy has erupted around Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip, a well-known figure in the Counter-Strike community, as allegations of his involvement in a skin scam come to light. Leading the charge against him is top streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel, who has also accused the CS2 professional of scamming him.
Stewie2K, renowned for his impressive track record including a CS Major trophy with Cloud9, transitioned to content creation after stepping back from the competitive scene. He recently made a brief return to competitive play as a stand-in for Wildcard during the PGL Astana regional in 2025, but his comeback is now overshadowed by the ongoing skin scam allegations.
The saga began when CS2 skins trader MitaoCatCS publicly accused Stewie2K of failing to honor a trade deal. MitaoCatCS claimed he had sent money upfront for several high-value CS2 items, including a Karambit Case Hardened and a Butterfly Doppler. According to him, the trade did not go through despite waiting for the hold period to expire. He alleges that Stewie2K backed out of the trade without returning the money or skins involved.
In response to the allegations, Stewie2K initially cited “technical issues” and claimed that the deal was automatically canceled by automated systems. However, this explanation was met with skepticism, especially after xQc revealed his own experiences with Stewie2K, stating he had also lent the pro valuable skins that were never returned.
To provide some evidence, Stewie2K shared a screenshot of a Steam trade log indicating that the trade had indeed been canceled. However, critics pointed out discrepancies in the screenshot, suggesting it may have been manipulated. During a recent stream, Stewie2K attempted to clarify the situation, asserting that the transaction was intended as a loan rather than a trade, and expressed confusion over Mitao’s public accusations.
The situation continues to escalate as xQc, undeniably a major voice in the streaming community, sheds light on his own experiences of dealing with Stewie2K. He had previously chosen not to disclose his encounters, likely due to his successful streaming career. However, with the recent rise of allegations against Stewie2K, xQc felt compelled to share his story, revealing a pattern of behavior that raises further questions about the CS2 pro’s credibility.
As the situation unfolds, the community is left questioning the credibility of Stewie2K and the nature of his dealings within the gaming world. The outcome remains uncertain, but it has undoubtedly ignited a heated discussion about trust and accountability in the gaming community.
