Step into Poe’s World: A Theatrical Experience Awaits!

ADRIAN — The Adrian District Library is hosting a special event, “In the Shadow of the Raven,” on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 3 to 4 p.m., focused on the American writer, poet, editor, and literary critic Edgar Allan Poe.

Duffy Hudson, a veteran of Broadway and film, will showcase his talent and passion for Poe in this unique one-man play. The performance begins with Poe, renowned for his poetry and short stories centered on mystery and the macabre, emerging from the scene of his enigmatic death and reflecting on his life’s events.

Through a blend of biographical storytelling and dramatic readings of Poe’s works, including “Annabel Lee,” “The Raven,” and “The Tell-Tale Heart,” Hudson delivers a distinctive theatrical experience centered on one of America’s most celebrated and mysterious figures.

The event will take place in the community room of the library located at 143 E. Maumee St. in downtown Adrian, with doors opening at 2:45 p.m. Attendance is free, and there is no need for prior registration.

The Adrian District Library aims to address the dynamic needs of the community by providing equitable opportunities for connection, lifelong learning, and exploration.
