The Adrian District Library is set to host a special event titled “In the Shadow of the Raven” on Sunday, October 6, from 3 to 4 p.m. This event will focus on the life and works of the iconic American writer, poet, editor, and literary critic Edgar Allan Poe.
Duffy Hudson, a seasoned veteran of Broadway and film, will bring his enthusiasm for Poe to the stage in a captivating one-man play. The performance starts with Poe rising from the scene of his mysterious death and progresses as he retraces the significant events of his life.
Hudson skillfully weaves together biographical details and dramatic renditions of Poe’s famous works, including “Annabel Lee,” “The Raven,” and “The Tell-Tale Heart.” This combination promises a deep and engaging theatrical insight into the life and legacy of one of America’s most celebrated and mysterious literary figures.
The event will take place in the community room at the library located at 143 E. Maumee St. in downtown Adrian, with doors opening at 2:45 p.m. Admission is free and no prior registration is necessary.
The mission of the Adrian District Library is to adapt to the community’s evolving needs by providing equitable opportunities for connection, lifelong learning, and discovery.
