As Texas faces one of the most devastating floods in its history, a wave of celebrity support is emerging to help those affected. The catastrophic flooding over the July 4 weekend has already claimed at least 80 lives and left many more unaccounted for, prompting heartfelt messages from Hollywood stars like Jennifer Garner, Matthew McConaughey, and Khloé Kardashian.

The torrential rains, which inundated Central Texas, caused rivers to rise dramatically—over 15 inches of rain fell in Kerr County within mere hours. The Guadalupe River, for instance, rose more than 25 feet rapidly, leaving residents unprepared for the scale of the disaster. One site heavily impacted was Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp for girls, where several children and a counselor remain missing.

In light of the tragedy, McConaughey, a Texas native, spoke on social media, delivering an emotional plea for support and assistance. “It’s gonna be a long road ahead,” he noted, highlighting the pain and urgency of the situation while commending the resilience of Texans.

Jennifer Garner, born in Houston, shared a poignant message on her Instagram Stories, echoing the sentiment of solidarity. Additionally, pop star Shakira took the opportunity during her concert in San Antonio to express her condolences and announced that a portion of ticket sales would support Catholic Charities, which is active in relief efforts.

Khloé Kardashian also shared her sympathies, particularly for the families impacted by the flood, especially the loss of children. “My heart is so deeply aching for every parent, every family member,” she lamented, emphasizing her empathy as a mother.

In response to this disaster, significant contributions and responses are pouring in. President Trump has declared a Major Disaster, which activates support from FEMA, while the NFL teams, including the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans, promised $1.5 million in aid. Furthermore, over 400 first responders have already completed more than 525 rescue operations.

As rescue operations continue and the focus shifts to rebuilding, the situation highlights the strength and generosity of communities, as Texans come together to support one another during this challenging time. Celebrities and organizations are stepping up to amplify the call for assistance, demonstrating an overwhelming spirit of solidarity amid the crisis.
