“Stars Align as Harris Closes Out DNC 2024 with Vision for America”

The 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago is set to conclude on Thursday, highlighted by Vice President Kamala Harris’ acceptance speech. This final day promises to be filled with notable performances and celebrity appearances, continuing the trend seen throughout the week. Confirmed acts for Thursday night include Pink and The Chicks, previously known as the Dixie Chicks.

Following an inspiring acceptance speech from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on Wednesday, which energized the crowd at the United Center, the night featured speeches from prominent figures like Bill Clinton and Oprah Winfrey, along with performances from Maren Morris, Stevie Wonder, and John Legend.

The convention’s “main programming” is scheduled to kick off at 5:30 p.m. and is anticipated to wrap up after 10 p.m. This week has seen a shift in start times to minimize programming delays, although there have been setbacks each night so far, with Wednesday’s event concluding shortly before 11 p.m.

The Day 4 speaker lineup includes North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, Rev. Al Sharpton, former GOP Illinois Representative Adam Kinzinger, Rep. Marcia Fudge, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and Gabby Giffords, among others. The overarching theme for the day is “For Our Future.”

During her speech, Harris is expected to articulate her vision and policy agenda aimed at addressing economic challenges faced by Americans. Michael Tyler, the Harris-Walz Campaign Communications Director, stated that the Vice President’s approach focuses on reducing costs for everyday citizens, including measures to lower grocery prices, housing costs, and advocate for a fair tax code that benefits the middle class.

DNC Executive Director Alex Hornbrook noted that Harris intends to share “her story directly to the country.”

For those wishing to follow the event, all sessions of the Democratic National Convention will be streamed live on NBC Chicago’s website and mobile app, with additional coverage available through Telemundo Chicago. Thursday’s streaming is set for 5:30 to 10 p.m. Central time.

The convention’s themes this week include:

Monday – “For the People”

Tuesday – “A Bold Vision for America’s Future”

Wednesday – “A Fight for Our Freedoms”

Thursday – “For Our Future”
