Tennis stars Taylor Fritz and Elena Rybakina are enthusiastic about their upcoming collaboration in the mixed doubles event at the 2025 US Open, with their excitement evident as they share insights about their partnership. The highly anticipated event is part of the USTA’s Fan Week, scheduled for August 19 and 20 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, featuring an impressive $1 million prize pool.
A total of 25 teams have entered the revamped US Open Mixed Doubles Championship, with the top eight teams determined by combined singles rankings set to play, while the remaining eight will be selected via wild card entries. Among the standout pairings are other star duos like Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu, Naomi Osaka and Nick Kyrgios, and Iga Świątek and Casper Ruud, adding to the competitive spirit of the tournament.
Fritz, who has a longstanding appreciation for mixed doubles, expressed his eagerness to take the court with Rybakina once again. He highlighted their past success at the Tie Break Tens, reinforcing his confidence in her skills, which he considers a great asset. “I always enjoy playing mixed doubles, and I’m excited to play with her,” Fritz noted.
Rybakina is just as thrilled about their reunion, viewing the mixed doubles event as an excellent chance for preparation ahead of the singles matches. “He has such a good game that I think it would be nice to play at the US Open,” she remarked.
Their successful chemistry was on display earlier in the year during the Eisenhower Cup at Indian Wells, where they clinched the title against formidable opponents, showing their potential for success in the upcoming mixed doubles championship.
Additionally, both players are currently competing at the ongoing Mubadala Citi DC Open, where Fritz is the top seed and Rybakina made her tournament debut with an impressive win in the doubles event alongside Raducanu.
This collaboration promises excitement and strong performances, as fans eagerly await the showdowns during the US Open. Engaging in mixed doubles not only showcases their talent but also enhances the sport’s appeal, emphasizing the joy of teamwork in tennis.
