Emmy Award-winning producer, actor, and filmmaker Kerry Washington, alongside Pilar Savone, will be joining the production team of the upcoming play “Duke & Roya.” They will collaborate with notable figures such as Emmy and Tony winner Mike Jackson, Emmy Award winner Ty Stiklorius, EGOT winner John Legend, and several others from Get Lifted Film Co., Naturi Naughton-Lewis, and Take Two Entertainment.
The production recently announced its understudies: Ariana Afradi, Shirine Babb, René David Ifrah, and Jequrey Slaton, rounding out the full cast.
“Duke & Roya” is set to premiere tomorrow, June 10, 2025, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, running for 11 weeks, with an official opening slated for June 24, 2025. This play stars Jay Ellis, known for his roles in “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Insecure,” and Stephanie Nur from “Lioness” and “1883.” The cast also features Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Noma Dumezweni and Dariush Kashani.
