Carrie Underwood is set to take the stage at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, as confirmed by an inaugural committee spokesperson. This performance marks a significant moment, with Underwood singing “America the Beautiful” accompanied by the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club.

This choice of performer suggests that Trump’s second inauguration may attract higher-profile names compared to the talent featured at his first inaugural ceremony in 2017. Underwood, who gained fame as the winner of “American Idol” in 2005, is a recognized figure in country music.

In addition to Underwood, opera singer Christopher Macchio will perform the national anthem. The inaugural celebration will begin on Saturday at Trump’s golf club in Sterling, Virginia, followed by a series of events, including a visit to Arlington National Cemetery and a rally at Capitol One Arena in Washington.

Inauguration Day will feature traditional activities such as a church service, tea at the White House with the Bidens, and activities that include a parade down Pennsylvania Avenue and several inaugural balls. Interestingly, The Village People, famous for their song “Y.M.C.A.,” will also participate in the festivities, confirming their presence at various inaugural activities.

Overall, this inauguration is shaping up to be a blend of tradition and modern entertainment, with hopes that it will unite diverse groups of supporters and create a celebratory atmosphere.
