Country music sensation Carrie Underwood is confirmed to perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, scheduled for January 20. This follows the recent announcements of the inaugural ceremonies that promise to be star-studded, potentially surpassing the celebrity lineup from his first inauguration in 2017.
Underwood, who rose to fame as the winner of “American Idol” in 2005, will be singing “America the Beautiful,” accompanied by the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club. Additionally, opera singer Christopher Macchio is set to perform the national anthem during the event.
The inaugural festivities will commence on January 16 at Trump’s golf club in Sterling, Virginia, and will include several events leading up to the swearing-in ceremony. Notable activities include a visit to Arlington National Cemetery, a rally at Capitol One Arena with supporters, and a candlelight dinner.
Inauguration Day will feature a church service and tea at the White House with outgoing President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden before the ceremony itself. The festivities will also consist of a parade along Pennsylvania Avenue and three formal inaugural balls. Adding to the entertainment, the Village People have also confirmed their participation in the inaugural activities.
This year’s inauguration appears to bring together a mix of traditional and contemporary entertainment, showcasing the diverse musical talent reflecting the nation’s culture. As anticipation builds, many look forward to a ceremony that celebrates unity and patriotism.
