Michael Strahan made waves in 2023 by being the first celebrity from the sports entertainment industry to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Following in his historic footsteps, his Good Morning America co-hosts, Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, are also set to be honored with stars of their own.
The celebrations come as GMA commemorates its 50th anniversary, and the show shared a video on its social media platforms that captured the excitement surrounding the co-hosts’ upcoming “double ceremony.” Their stars will be unveiled on July 2, 2025, as part of the prestigious Walk of Fame’s class of 2026, which features 35 other honorees, including notable names such as Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Stanley Tucci.
Both Roberts and Stephanopoulos have a long-standing commitment to journalism. Roberts has been a co-anchor on GMA since May 2005, having previously worked with ESPN and contributed to NFL Primetime, alongside founding her own production company, Rock’n Robin Productions. Meanwhile, Stephanopoulos began his tenure at ABC News in 1997 as an analyst for the program This Week, eventually becoming a co-host on GMA and the host of This Week with George Stephanopoulos.
Reflecting on his own star ceremony, Strahan expressed profound gratitude, noting the surreal nature of the achievement and how it clarified his purpose in life. He emphasized the importance of spreading joy and making others feel valued. Strahan attended his ceremony with family, including his mother and three of his four children, as well as Roberts, who showed solidarity during his moment of recognition.
In addition to his Hollywood accolade, Strahan is also celebrated for his sports career as an NFL player, winning Super Bowl 42 with the New York Giants in 2007 and being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
The recognition for Strahan, Roberts, and Stephanopoulos reflects their significant contributions to both journalism and entertainment, fostering a sense of inspiration for aspiring journalists and entertainers alike. The forthcoming ceremony serves as a reminder of the impact these personalities have had on their audiences over decades, highlighting their dedication to spreading positivity and joy through their work.
