John Stamos has extended heartfelt support to his Full House co-star, Dave Coulier, after Coulier announced his diagnosis of Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Sharing a series of nostalgic photos on Instagram, Stamos expressed his brotherly love with the caption, “My brother from day 1. Love you @dcoulier and I’ll be by your side through it all.”
Coulier disclosed his health challenges during a recent interview on the Today show, revealing that he had been feeling unwell for a month before discovering a swollen lymph node in his groin. Initially, tests returned normal results, leading him to feel reassured. However, as the swelling continued, further investigation led to the lump being biopsied, which ultimately confirmed a diagnosis of B-cell lymphoma. “The first thing I said to them was, ‘Wait a minute — cancer?’” Coulier recounted, describing the shock of hearing such news.
Now undergoing chemotherapy, Coulier is optimistic about his treatment, which he expects to complete by February 2025, admitting that the journey has felt like a “roller coaster.”
Both Stamos and Coulier have a long-standing friendship that blossomed during their nine years working as Jesse Katsopolis and Joey Gladstone on Full House, a connection that has remained strong since the show concluded in 1995. This bond was particularly highlighted after the loss of fellow cast member Bob Saget in 2022, which motivated Stamos to write his memoir, “If You Would Have Told Me.”
In his memoir, Stamos reflects on his life, career, struggles, and victories, revealing how Saget’s passing profoundly influenced his decision to share his story. “If You Would Have Told Me is the book I never planned to write, but after losing Bob, finally becoming a father, and wanting to honor all the colorful people who have made me who I am today, I figured if not now, when?” Stamos noted.
This touching display of friendship during a challenging time not only reinforces their lifelong connection but also highlights a message of resilience and support amid adversity. Fans of both actors can take comfort in knowing that they cherish their bond and can rally around Coulier during his health battle.
