The match marked a significant debut for new St. Louis head coach Yoann Damet, alongside key newcomers Daniel Edelman, Rafael Santos, Lukas MacNaughton, and Dante Polvara. In the opening match, Marcel Hartel netted the first goal of the season, assisted by Simon Becher, solidifying Hartel’s place in the team’s history with 16 goals in his tenure, ranking third overall for CITY SC.
This week, CITY SC will face off against San Diego FC at Snapdragon Stadium, a rematch after the two teams’ previous encounters last season.
