The South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX) is set to introduce two new award categories for the SPX Annual Awards 2025, aimed at recognizing excellence in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Gender Reporting. The SPX’s Chief Executive, Sheraj Obeyesekere, announced that these categories, titled Excellence in ESG Coverage and Excellence in Gender Reporting, are intended to shine a light on organizations that display transparency and leadership in measurements of their corporate practices concerning these crucial areas.
Obeyesekere noted that ESG and gender-related reporting are increasingly influential in how investors and stakeholders evaluate companies across the globe. This initiative is part of SPX’s commitment to fostering a culture of transparency and forward-looking reporting within the market.
The awards will take place at a gala event in Suva on November 3rd, where industry leaders from both listed and unlisted companies, as well as large private entities and state-owned enterprises, will be gathered to celebrate achievements in corporate reporting. Participation is open to both listed and unlisted organizations, and the application process is free, encouraging a broad spectrum of businesses to partake in this recognition of excellence.
