AUSTIN, Texas — In a commanding performance on Thursday night, the San Antonio Spurs secured their seventh consecutive victory by defeating the Phoenix Suns 121-94. This win showcased the team’s depth and resilience, particularly with standout contributions from both starters and bench players.

Stephon Castle led the Spurs with 20 points, shooting an impressive 8 of 11 from the field. His performance also included four assists and three steals in just 21 minutes of play. Victor Wembanyama, the highly touted rookie, contributed 17 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocks in 25 minutes. De’Aaron Fox added 15 points and eight assists, further solidifying the Spurs’ strong offensive showing.

The Spurs’ bench played a pivotal role in the victory, with Dylan Harper scoring 17 points and Luke Kornet contributing 10 points and nine rebounds. This depth has been a critical factor in the Spurs’ success as they continue to build momentum.

For the Suns, Jalen Green, returning from injury, was the standout performer with 26 points. However, Phoenix struggled without star Devin Booker, who left the game after just nine minutes due to right hip soreness. Additionally, Dillon Brooks was absent due to a suspension for accruing his 16th technical foul of the season, and Grayson Allen missed the game due to an ankle injury.

The Spurs established a solid lead early, going into halftime with a score of 61-49, thanks to a strong start to the second quarter. A 13-0 run during that stretch laid the groundwork for the victory, highlighted by Julian Champagnie’s two three-pointers and a three-point play by Harrison Barnes.

As the second half commenced, San Antonio surged ahead with consecutive three-pointers from Castle, Wembanyama, and Devin Vassell, pushing their lead to as many as 22 points.

Up next, the Spurs will make their way to Austin to host the Sacramento Kings on Saturday, while the Suns are set to face the Orlando Magic at home on the same day. As the season progresses, the Spurs seem positioned to make a strong push, demonstrating both skill and teamwork that bodes well for their future games.
