Springsteen Stands with Harris: A Call for Unity and Change

Bruce Springsteen has announced his endorsement of Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election in a video shared on Instagram. In the recording, filmed at a diner—potentially in New Jersey—Springsteen addressed inquiries from the media and fans regarding his political stance.

He emphasized that while his opinion holds no more weight than that of any other citizen, he strongly supports Kamala Harris as president and Tim Walz as vice president, while opposing Donald Trump and JD Vance.

Springsteen’s political activism is well-known; he previously endorsed Joe Biden in 2020, backed Hillary Clinton in 2016, and has been vocal against Trump, even prohibiting him from using his music at rallies. In his endorsement, he articulated his belief that Harris and Walz advocate for an inclusive vision of America, promoting economic growth that benefits all citizens, not just the wealthy.

He also expressed sharp criticism of Trump, labeling him “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime.” Springsteen stated that Trump’s approach undermines the constitution, democracy, rule of law, and the peaceful transition of power, which he believes disqualifies him from holding office again.

Describing the current political climate as one of the most consequential moments in U.S. history, Springsteen remarked on the deep divisions felt nationwide, suggesting that unity is possible.

His endorsement joins the ranks of other celebrities expressing their support for Harris, with some, like Shonda Rhimes, announcing their backing shortly after Harris was selected as the Democratic candidate. Springsteen concluded by reaffirming that Harris and Walz embody the vision of America he has been singing about for decades, ultimately declaring his intent to vote for them on November 5.
