Spotify Seeks Artist Insights: Will Their Feedback Matter?

Spotify is conducting online surveys aimed at gathering feedback from artists and their teams who utilize the Spotify For Artists platform.

In a recent email, the platform expressed its desire to better understand how users engage with its services and identify ways to enhance the overall experience. “Your feedback will help us shape the future of Spotify,” the email stated.

The survey includes standard questions about the respondent’s role—whether they are an artist, label representative, or marketer—alongside inquiries regarding their familiarity with key features and usage of the Spotify For Artists platform.

Additionally, the survey poses more pointed questions, such as whether respondents believe that earnings from Spotify significantly contribute to their overall income from music. It also asks about the importance of having music featured in editorial playlists.

While Spotify is commendable for addressing these challenging topics, it is unlikely that any unfavorable feedback will lead to significant changes in the company’s practices, such as increasing artist payouts or diversifying playlist selections. Moreover, it is anticipated that Spotify may not disclose the survey’s findings.
