Splitgate 2 Beta: Unlocking Features and Surprises Ahead of 2025 Launch!

Splitgate 2’s open beta has officially launched, paving the way for gamers to experience near-final version features ahead of the game’s full release projected for Summer 2025. The beta is set to continue throughout until then, with exciting news that unlocked rewards and cosmetics during this period will not reset.

Players can look forward to an engaging experience with 25 distinct weapons, including an all-new railgun power weapon, alongside 15 maps and 10 game modes. Fresh additions to the lineup include 24-player Onslaught mode maps and the return of the beloved Stadium map from the original Splitgate, alongside a revival of the fan-favorite Takedown mode, enhanced with four custom Simulation maps designed specifically for it.

A standout feature of the Splitgate 2 beta is “The Lab,” a creative space for players to design their own maps and game modes, taking inspiration from Halo: Reach’s popular Forge tool. This added layer of creativity enhances player engagement and allows personal expression in gameplay.

In terms of monetization, the beta introduces a mini battle pass priced at $5, featuring exclusive character and weapon skins, portal skins, emotes, sprays, banners, weapon charms, and premium currency for additional cosmetic purchases. Furthermore, three founder’s packs with exclusive cosmetics will be on offer.

With a commitment to cross-play functionality, Splitgate 2’s beta is available on various platforms including PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PS4.

Looking towards the full launch, 1047 has teased a roadmap that promises additional maps, weapons, and game modes, along with an “enormous surprise” on the horizon for when the game reaches its 1.0 status, keeping fans intrigued.

The development of Splitgate 2 began in 2022 after 1047 paused the original game’s updates, aiming to enhance gameplay without hindrances from the previous version’s rising popularity. This strategic decision reflects their vision to create a scalable and robust gaming experience that will not only satisfy current fans but draw in new players as well, positioning Splitgate 2 as a promising evolution of the franchise.

Overall, the beta’s features and flexible engagement options create a hopeful outlook for both dedicated fans and newcomers alike as they eagerly anticipate the full game’s arrival.
