Spirit Stars Gear Up for Olympic Glory: Join the Watch Party!

Washington, D.C. (August 6, 2024) – Trinity Rodman and Casey Krueger of the Washington Spirit will represent the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) as they prepare to face Brazil in the gold medal match of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris this Saturday.

Fans of the Spirit are invited to attend the official watch party for the gold medal match at The Bullpen in Navy Yard, starting at 11 a.m. EDT. The event aims to replicate the energetic atmosphere from last summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup parties, as attendees cheer on the U.S. team in hopes of returning to the Olympic podium. Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP.

Rodman and Krueger, both playing in their fifth consecutive match of the tournament, helped the USWNT secure a narrow 1-0 victory over Germany after extra time. Throughout the tournament, Rodman has been a standout, scoring three goals and providing one assist in her first four Olympic matches. She and Krueger now boast 45 and 55 caps, respectively, for the national team.

At just 22 years old, Rodman has made a significant impact this season, showcasing her speed and dynamic play. In 15 matches for the Spirit, she has recorded five goals and four assists. Veteran defender Krueger has played a pivotal role in fortifying the Spirit’s defense, contributing to multiple shutouts this season. Both players are set to return to Audi Field later this month for the inaugural Spirit International Friendlies featuring prestigious English clubs Arsenal and Chelsea.

Following the Olympics, the Spirit will host these international friendlies, facing Arsenal on August 18, and then later in the month, the Spirit will resume regular season play against the Kansas City Current, followed by the Chelsea versus Arsenal matchup in the U.S. Fans can purchase tickets for these exciting events and find the latest Spirit merchandise at WashingtonSpirit.com/shop.
