Earlier this year, John Williams expressed his views on film music, sharing a candid perspective. He remarked, “I’ve never been much of a fan of film music. Film music, as good as it might be – and it usually isn’t, except maybe some eight-minute segment – I just think it’s lacking something.” He emphasized that while film music is often cherished with nostalgia, equating it with the stature of classical music in concert halls is, in his opinion, a misconception.
Despite his extensive career, Williams reassured fans that he has no plans to retire soon, affirming, “So I’ve got 10 more years to go. I’ll be around for a while! Also, you can’t ‘retire’ from music. It’s like breathing. It’s your life. It’s my life.
