Tom Holland has confirmed that a fourth “Spider-Man” movie is in the works and set to begin production next summer. Speaking on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Holland expressed his excitement, stating, “Everything’s good to go — we’re nearly there. Super exciting. I can’t wait!”
The news comes after the success of Holland’s latest Spider-Man film, “No Way Home,” released in 2021, which featured iconic appearances from previous Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Fallon humorously called out Holland for keeping the cameo a secret during a prior appearance, saying, “You totally, without a doubt, professionally lied to us all,” but added it was worth it. Holland referred to working with Maguire and Garfield as the “highlight of my career” and explained how the cast managed to keep such significant details under wraps.
Recently, Holland has been promoting his new non-alcoholic beer, Bero. During an appearance on the “Rich Roll” podcast, he mentioned that he and his girlfriend and co-star, Zendaya, recently read a draft of the “Spider-Man 4” script together, calling it a work in progress but praising the writers’ efforts. Additionally, industry reports suggest that “Shang-Chi” director Destin Daniel Cretton is in early discussions to direct the upcoming installment, following Jon Watts, who directed the earlier films in the franchise.
Reflecting on the script he read just weeks ago, Holland shared, “It really lit a fire in me,” noting the excitement he and Zendaya felt as they engaged with the material.
