Southwest Airlines is increasing its flight schedule to accommodate Taylor Swift fans attending the Eras Tour concerts in October.
The airline announced it will provide 10 additional flights to and from Miami and New Orleans during October for Swift’s concerts.
On October 17, Southwest added flights from Baltimore/Washington to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood, as well as from Nashville to Miami, with returns scheduled for October 20.
On October 24, the airline is introducing extra flights to New Orleans from Austin and Baltimore/Washington. Additionally, flights from Dallas and San Antonio to New Orleans will be available the following day.
For a special touch, Southwest has themed flight numbers after Swift’s songs, such as Flight 22 and Flight 1989, referencing her song “22” and album “1989.”
“Southwest is excited to welcome Swifties and looks forward to celebrating with them as they journey to see one of the most successful female artists of all time!” the airline said. “And remember, just like your first two checked bags, bracelets fly free!”
Taylor Swift’s global tour has catapulted her to billionaire status due to the significant revenue generated from the shows. It has also been beneficial for host cities, which experience substantial increases in spending when Swift and her fans visit.
