Southwest Airlines is increasing its flight schedule to accommodate Taylor Swift fans attending the Eras Tour concerts in October. The airline will offer 10 additional flights to and from Miami and New Orleans for Swift’s performances.
Specifically, Southwest added flights on October 17 from Baltimore/Washington to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood and from Nashville to Miami, with return flights on October 20. On October 24, additional flights will be available from Austin and Baltimore/Washington to New Orleans, and from Dallas and San Antonio to New Orleans the following day.
In a nod to Swift’s music, the airline named flights after her works, such as Flight 22 and Flight 1989, referring to her song “22” and her album “1989.”
“Southwest is excited to welcome Swifties and looks forward to celebrating with them as they hit the road to see one of the most successful female artists of all time!” the airline stated. “And remember, just like your first two checked bags, bracelets fly free!”
Swift’s global tour has propelled her to billionaire status, significantly boosting the economies of the cities hosting her concerts due to increased spending by fans.
