Southwest Airlines is enhancing its schedule to assist Taylor Swift fans in attending the Eras Tour concerts in October. The airline announced it will add 10 more flights to and from Miami and New Orleans for Swift’s performances.
On October 17, Southwest will introduce flights from Baltimore/Washington to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood and from Nashville to Miami, with return flights on October 20.
Additionally, on October 24, the airline will increase flights to New Orleans from Austin and Baltimore/Washington. The next day, they will add flights from Dallas and San Antonio to New Orleans.
The additional flights are cleverly named, with flight numbers like Flight 22 and Flight 1989, referencing Swift’s song “22” and her album “1989.”
“Southwest is thrilled to welcome Swifties and is eager to celebrate with them as they journey to see one of the most successful female artists of all time!” the airline stated. “And remember, just like your first two checked bags, bracelets fly free!”
Taylor Swift’s global tour has not only catapulted her to billionaire status due to substantial revenue from the events but has also significantly benefited host cities financially, as they experience marked increases in spending when Swift and her fans arrive in town.
