This week, Southern Nevada will experience a mix of weather as a series of storms approach the area.

On Wednesday, the region can expect some sporadic showers, particularly in the mountains, as a low-pressure system moves into the West Coast, bringing with it the potential for isolated thunderstorms. In Las Vegas, conditions will remain mostly sunny to partly cloudy, with high temperatures reaching around 81 degrees. While showers are expected, the valley is likely to see mostly virga—raindrops that evaporate before reaching the ground—due to the current dry conditions. Winds will be light, blowing at speeds of up to 10 mph.

Air quality in Clark County is rated ‘good,’ though ‘moderate’ levels of weed pollen are present, primarily from ragweed, sage, and wormwood.

As night falls, temperatures in the valley will drop to the upper 50s and low 60s with mostly clear skies. Light winds will persist into the evening. There’s a chance for additional showers overnight into early Thursday morning, especially in areas north of the valley, as the storm system moves eastward.

Looking ahead, Thursday and Friday will bring pleasant weather with valley highs near 80 degrees. Following that, another storm system is forecast to develop in the Gulf of Alaska, targeting the Pacific Northwest first before impacting Southern Nevada over the weekend. Expect wind gusts between 20 to 30 mph on Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures dipping to the upper 70s.

Next week, high pressure is anticipated to establish itself, stabilizing temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s from Tuesday through Friday. Early forecasts indicate that Halloween will feature mostly clear skies, with temperatures ideal for trick-or-treating in the low to mid-70s.

Residents are encouraged to share photos or videos if they encounter rain in their neighborhoods, as these contributions may be featured on air or online, fostering a sense of community engagement during this changeable weather week.
