Breath of Life Church, located at 1313 S. Pine St., will host its Youth Sunday Service at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday. The service will feature Tyrese McGhee as the guest speaker. McGhee, a staff member at the Jefferson-Lincoln County Sixth Division Juvenile Court, is also a youth pastor at the Tree of Life Church of God in Christ in Little Rock, where he actively engages with the young adult ministry. Originally from Rison, McGhee holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and political science from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, as well as an associate’s degree in law enforcement. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., having been recognized as Fraternity Member of the Year in 2024. His professional focus is on legal affairs and youth development, demonstrating a clear commitment to helping young people thrive. During his time at university, he successfully balanced rigorous academics with work experience at Chosen Law Group. The youth director at Breath of Life is Jennifer Lee, and the pastor is Rev. Kerry Price Sr.
In the Watson Chapel community, Faith Community Church at 3703 Ryburn Road will conduct its Christmas bazaar this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bazaar promises a delightful selection of handmade crafts, festive decorations, baked goods, candies, frozen casseroles, soups, wreaths, and other unique items.
Additionally, St. John AME Church, located at 1117 W. Pullen St., will distribute food boxes to those in need this Saturday from 9 a.m. until supplies last. To ensure safety, recipients are asked to remain in their vehicles and have their trunks open for contactless distribution. A state-issued ID is required to receive one box per family.
New Community Church at 321 N. Birch St. will also be distributing food on Saturday from 8 to 9:30 a.m., inviting community members to participate. Furthermore, the church will host its Kingdom Builders program at 6 p.m. on Sunday, featuring Wanda Murry as the guest speaker.
