Police have urged people to allow extra time to reach their destinations as the South Fulton Police Department will deploy additional officers along the Old National corridor and throughout the city to manage incidents and address any concerns.
The South Fulton police will collaborate with deputies from Clayton County and the College Park police to assist with traffic management in the area.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution will have a reporter on-site to cover the funeral, which is open to the public. Attendees are required to RSVP through richhomiequan.com. Fans who have secured their tickets can participate in a public viewing scheduled from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the doors close.
The 34-year-old rapper was a prominent figure in Atlanta’s music scene, playing a crucial role in bringing the city’s trap sound into the mainstream during the early 2010s. He gained fame with tracks like “Type of Way” and “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” and was part of the renowned duo with Young Thug, forming half of the Cash Money group Rich Gang.
An autopsy was conducted earlier this month, but the cause of death has not yet been disclosed. A vigil and balloon release took place on Sunday at Ronald E. McNair High School, which Lamar attended.
