Soto Shines with Three Homers as Yankees Top White Sox

Juan Soto hit three home runs and drove in four runs while Nestor Cortes pitched seven scoreless innings, leading the New York Yankees to a 4-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.

Soto recorded his sixth multi-home run game of the season and achieved the first three-homer game of his career. He launched a two-run shot in the third inning, followed by solo home runs in the fifth and seventh, propelling New York to a half-game lead over the Baltimore Orioles in the American League East.

Jonathan Cannon, a rookie right-hander for Chicago, gave up Soto’s first two home runs and finished with three runs and five hits allowed over 4 2/3 innings. The third home run came off Fraser Ellard.

Cortes, with a record of 6-10, held the White Sox to three hits and struck out nine without issuing a walk. Chicago struggled with a 2-21 record since the All-Star break.
