Sony has revealed its latest innovation with the launch of newly designed DualSense wireless controllers and PlayStation 5 console covers as part of the Hyperpop Collection. Sae Kobayashi, a member of Sony’s Color, Material and Finish design team, emphasized the visual appeal of the new controllers, stating, “A seamless gradient wraps around the front and back of the DualSense, finished in a high-gloss coat that makes the colors pop more than ever.” The console covers have also received a similar aesthetic upgrade with a subtle hint of transparency, enhancing their visual intrigue.
The inspiration behind these dynamic colors is rooted in the vivid glow of RGB lights often found in modern gaming setups, according to Leo Cardoso, another designer on the team.
Preorders for the Hyperpop Collection will commence on January 16, with the official launch set for March 12.
