“Saturday Night Live” has announced its lineup of hosts for the upcoming 50th season, featuring notable names such as Ariana Grande, John Mulaney, and Michael Keaton.
Jean Smart will kick off the season on September 28, marking her debut as host, with Jelly Roll performing as the musical guest. The following week, comedian Nate Bargatze will take the reins on October 5, accompanied by Coldplay as the musical act.
Ariana Grande will host the show for the second time on October 12, with Stevie Nicks set to join her as the musical guest. Michael Keaton will make a guest appearance on October 19 alongside Billie Eilish, and John Mulaney is scheduled to host on November 2, featuring first-time musical guest Chappell Roan.
Jean Smart recently secured her third Emmy Award for the Max comedy series “Hacks,” while Jelly Roll, who performed at the Emmys this year, is building anticipation for his upcoming album “Beautifully Broken,” set for release on October 11.
Nate Bargatze will return to the “SNL” stage as part of his ongoing “Be Funny Tour,” and Coldplay will make their eighth appearance on the show as they promote their new album “Moon Music,” scheduled to drop on October 4.
Ariana Grande will lead the show ahead of her role in “Wicked,” which premieres in theaters on November 22, while Stevie Nicks returns to “SNL” following her last performance in 1983.
Michael Keaton, who was recently featured in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” alongside Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder, will have his upcoming film “Goodrich” released on October 18. Billie Eilish will be making her fourth appearance on the show as the musical guest, supporting her forthcoming album “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” expected next year.
John Mulaney, who served as a writer on “Saturday Night Live” from 2008 to 2013, will host for the sixth time. The Emmy winner and comedian is also starring in the new Broadway play “All In: Comedy About Love,” which opens on December 11. Chappell Roan, known for her hits “Good Luck, Babe!” and “Hot to Go!,” will be making her “SNL” debut with a vibrant performance.
To commemorate its landmark 50th season, “Saturday Night Live” will air a live primetime special on February 16. The show airs on NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET and is available for streaming on Peacock. NBC is part of NBCUniversal, which is the parent company of NBC News.
