“Saturday Night Live” is taking a brief hiatus after broadcasting three episodes in a row. The popular late-night sketch comedy show will not air a new episode on Saturday, October 25, but will return on November 1 with actor Miles Teller as the host and Grammy-winning musician Brandi Carlile as the musical guest.
Teller, recognized for his roles in films such as “Divergent,” “Whiplash,” and the blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick,” previously hosted “SNL” in October 2022. Currently, he is promoting his upcoming film “Eternity,” set to premiere in theaters on November 14. Meanwhile, Carlile has just released her eighth studio album, “Returning to Myself,” on October 24 and has performed on “SNL” multiple times before: in October 2021, December 2022, and alongside Elton John in April 2025.
On November 8, standup comedian Nikki Glaser will host the show for the first time, paired with musical guest Sombr, who will also be making his debut. The episode on November 15 is set to bring additional new faces, featuring actor Glen Powell as host and Olivia Dean as the musical guest.
The 51st season of “SNL” launched on October 4, with musical artist Bad Bunny taking on hosting and musical duties. Following him on October 11 was former cast member Amy Poehler, who has returned to host alongside musical guest Role Model. Poehler has previously hosted the show in 2010 and 2015 and was celebrated for her time anchoring “Weekend Update.” The latest episode on October 18 saw singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter making her hosting debut, although she has graced the stage as a performer previously.
Fans of the show can rest assured that Colin Jost remains at the “Weekend Update” desk, supported by longtime co-anchor Michael Che, along with familiar cast members including Kenan Thompson, Chloe Fineman, Bowen Yang, and Mikey Day. Featured players Andrew Dismukes, Marcello Hernandez, James Austin Johnson, Sarah Sherman, Ashley Padilla, and Jane Wickline are all back, with five new featured players also joining the lineup this season.
However, the show has seen some changes in its roster, with Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, Devon Walker, Michael Longfellow, and Emil Wakim departing, alongside writers Celeste Yim and Rosebud Baker.
“Saturday Night Live” airs live on Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. on NBC and is available for streaming on multiple platforms, ensuring that fans can catch each new episode. This season promises to be full of fresh talent and returning favorites, keeping viewers entertained throughout the fall.
