After an impressive run of 21 episodes, Season 50 of “Saturday Night Live” has successfully concluded. The finale featured actress Scarlett Johansson hosting the show for a seventh time, who humorously reminisced about her first appearance on SNL when she was just 21, jesting that it was only three years ago.

The episode included a quirky musical segment where Johansson, along with current cast members, sang about their appreciation for Sarah Sherman, who is rumored to be leaving the show, though no official announcements concerning the cast’s future have been made. Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny returned for his third stint as the musical guest, delivering energetic performances of his popular songs, “NUEVAYoL” and “PERFuMITO NUEVO” featuring RaiNao.

In the finale, Colin Jost and Michael Che wrapped up their 11th season together on the Weekend Update with their traditional joke swap, signifying a lighthearted end to the season. The absence of formal farewells hints that all cast members may be returning for the upcoming season.

Looking back at the season, it started strong on September 28 with actress Jean Smart and musical guest Jelly Roll. Various prominent figures, including comedians Nate Bargatze, Bill Burr, and the ever-popular Dave Chappelle, made appearances throughout the season. Notably, a special three-hour anniversary commemorating “Saturday Night Live’s” 50 years aired on February 16, featuring beloved former and current stars like Tom Hanks and Lady Gaga.

Among the cast, longtime favorites such as Colin Jost, Michael Che, Kenan Thompson, and Bowen Yang returned, while new members Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline were introduced to bring fresh talent to the show.

This season marks a period of exciting change and celebration for “SNL,” promising fans more laughter in the upcoming seasons. As the show takes a pause, viewers can catch up on all episodes as “Saturday Night Live” continues airing on Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. EST on NBC and available for streaming across various platforms.
