Bad Bunny’s recent appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL) is currently re-aired as viewers wait for the show’s return after a brief hiatus. The NBC sketch comedy series is taking a break this week, giving fans the opportunity to revisit the season’s inaugural episode, which originally aired on October 4. This episode marked both Bad Bunny’s hosting debut and featured Doja Cat as the musical guest, alongside the introduction of five new cast members: Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson, and Veronika Slowikowska.
SNL is set to return on November 1 with a series of new episodes. The upcoming host will be Miles Teller, who stars in the film Eternity, with Brandi Carlile joining as the musical guest. Following that, comedian Nikki Glaser will host on November 8, with Sombr performing, and Glen Powell will take the stage on November 15 as the host, accompanied by musician Olivia Dean.
This season has also seen notable moments, such as a return appearance from Amy Poehler, who hosted on October 11 alongside musical guest Role Model, featuring surprise appearances from former cast members Tina Fey and Seth Meyers during the “Weekend Update.” Another highlight was the October 18 episode featuring Sabrina Carpenter, who took on the dual role of host and musical guest, drawing attention for her candid performance that included unscripted moments.
Earlier this season, it was revealed that several well-known cast members will not be returning, including Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, Devon Walker, Michael Longfellow, Emil Wakim, and John Higgins from Please Don’t Destroy. Nwodim shared an emotional farewell on social media, expressing gratitude for her time at SNL after a seven-season run.
Lorne Michaels, the longtime executive producer of the show, described the turnover of cast members as beneficial for SNL. He noted that the show’s ability to recruit diverse talent from varying generations helps keep it fresh and aligned with younger audiences, particularly as social media platforms like TikTok influence today’s culture.
As SNL prepares to continue its season, fans can remain optimistic about the engaging humor and commentary the show provides, highlighting the enduring legacy and evolution of a show that has remained a staple of American entertainment for decades.
