Korean retailer Worksout has played a pivotal role in defining the streetwear landscape in South Korea since its inception in 2003. The brand is known for making international streetwear more accessible by offering popular labels from the US and Europe at competitive prices. Worksout has a history of collaborations, one of which celebrated Carhartt WIP’s 10th Anniversary in the country. Now, the retailer is taking a significant step by partnering with Nike for its latest project centered around the iconic Air Max 95.
This collaboration coincides with the 30th Anniversary of the Air Max 95, originally designed by Sergio Lozano, and allows Worksout to present its unique take on this beloved sneaker. The updated design features a military-inspired color scheme, replacing the traditional layered paneling with a molded synthetic upper in an olive hue that shines with a glossy finish. The iconic Swoosh logos on the side display a tonal olive color rendered in durable ripstop material.
Continuing upwards, the classic Air Max 95 mesh tongue retains its characteristic style, now accentuated with earthy shades. Rather than the standard Air Max labeling, Worksout has introduced its own logo on the tongue label. The heel panel has also received a modern refresh with textured leather and a mini Swoosh logo. The co-branded insole features the Worksout and Nike logos, with thoughtful Korean phrases. The right shoe translates to “Wherever you are, be someone who is indispensable,” while the left shoe carries the message “Become Indispensable.” Rounding off the design, the midsole is dressed in black and features a pronounced “big bubble” Air unit design in the heel.
The Worksout x Nike Air Max 95 OG is set to launch exclusively in Korea in May 2025, though pricing details are still under wraps. Fans of both the sneaker and streetwear scenes are encouraged to keep an eye out for early images and updates regarding this anticipated release.
This collaboration marks a significant cultural moment, blending the heritage of Nike’s classic designs with contemporary fashion influences from a leading Korean retailer. It reflects the growth and evolution of streetwear in South Korea and highlights Worksout’s commitment to innovation and collaboration in the fashion industry.
