Sloane Stephens, the renowned tennis player known for her spirited performances, is taking a different role at this year’s Roland-Garros, stepping into the broadcasting arena with TNT while recovering from a foot injury sustained in March. Despite not being able to compete, the 32-year-old is excited to remain connected to her favorite tournament and promises fans an entertaining experience as she transitions from the court to the commentary booth.
In an Instagram announcement, she expressed her enthusiasm and commitment to making her commentary as dynamic as her playing style. While undergoing rehabilitation, Stephens continues to prioritize her fitness, particularly her upper body strength. In her latest feature on the fitness series “Strong Like,” she highlights her current goal of regaining strength and mobility, focusing on exercises that empower her, including her favorite, pull-ups.
Stephens shared her upper body workout routine, which consists of various supersets aimed at building strength and endurance. She advises performing three rounds of each superset, which includes exercises like lat pull-downs, triceps press-downs, bench presses, and, of course, multiple pull-ups. “By the end, your arms feel like Jell-O—but it’s amazing,” she remarked.
Additionally, she offers a glimpse into her fitness regimen and her gym essentials, notably featuring her own body care line, Doc & Glo, which is inspired by her grandparents.
As she navigates her rehabilitation and a new role, Stephens’ journey is a reminder of resilience and the importance of staying active, even when faced with challenges. Her determination to focus on health and strength during this time is not only commendable but serves as inspiration for many.
