Skai Jackson has reportedly been arrested for alleged domestic battery following an altercation with her boyfriend at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.
The incident took place last week at the CityWalk area of the theme park, where authorities were summoned after witnesses observed Jackson and her boyfriend arguing. Reports indicate that Jackson allegedly pushed her boyfriend multiple times, although his identity has not been disclosed.
Security personnel detained the couple until police arrived, leading to Jackson’s arrest on charges of misdemeanor domestic battery. She was cited and subsequently released a few hours later. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is set to review the case to determine if any charges will be filed.
According to reports, both Jackson and her boyfriend denied that any physical conflict occurred, with Jackson informing the authorities that they are engaged and expecting a child.
Jackson, widely recognized for her role as Zuri Ross on the Disney Channel series Jessie, has not publicly disclosed her boyfriend’s identity. In February, she shared a Snapchat photo featuring a mystery man, obscuring his face with an emoji and captioning it, “Showing my new BF.”
She portrayed Zuri Ross on Jessie from 2011 to 2015 and was also part of the spinoff series Bunk’d from 2015 to 2018. Beyond her Disney roles, Jackson voiced Glory Grant in the Marvel Rising animated franchise and starred in the film Sheroes alongside Isabelle Fuhrman and Sasha Luss last year. Additionally, she participated in season 29 of Dancing With the Stars in 2020, finishing in fifth place.
Earlier this year, Jackson reflected on her relationships with former co-stars from Jessie, noting that, despite the time that has passed since the series wrapped almost a decade ago, they have maintained contact.
“I feel like we’re all living different types of lives,” she remarked, adding that geographical distances make it challenging to meet regularly but she is proud of their respective achievements.
Jackson also expressed her appreciation for her experiences as a child actor, which began in 2006 with a guest spot on Sesame Street. She emphasized the importance of her support system in staying grounded throughout her career.
