Sizzler, the iconic steakhouse chain with four locations in Oregon, is embarking on an ambitious revamp aimed at revitalizing its brand and enhancing the dining experience. Once thriving with over 600 outlets nationwide, Sizzler’s presence has dramatically reduced, now operating primarily in six states, including Oregon, following substantial challenges that included a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in 2020.

Two years post-bankruptcy, Sizzler is focused on a comeback that seeks to return to its fast-casual roots. Recent plans revealed through QSR Magazine indicate an extensive makeover featuring tiled floors, wood accents, fresh paint, and even a fireplace at the entrance. To modernize, the chain will introduce digital menu boards and expand its booth seating for a more spacious dining experience. Notably, Sizzler’s famed all-you-can-eat salad bars will undergo a refreshing update, transitioning from stainless steel to vibrant white surfaces.

Since the beginning of 2023, Sizzler has already completed renovations at nine locations and has outlined intentions for further improvements in additional venues. While it remains unclear if any of the Oregon establishments will be included in this upcoming wave of renovations, the potential for upgrades has sparked interest.

Moreover, Sizzler plans to revive “The Sizzler” meal, which features a steak served on a bed of thick-cut fries and caramelized onions, all topped with garlic sauce and delivered on a sizzling platter—a nostalgic dish aimed at drawing back loyal customers.

With revitalization efforts underway, Sizzler is looking to not only attract previous patrons but also to entice new customers by combining its rich heritage with a modern dining atmosphere. This focus on reestablishing its presence in the competitive restaurant industry reflects a resilient approach to redefining the Sizzler experience.
