Six Signings Boost Bula FC Ahead of OFC Professional League Debut

Bula FC has announced the signing of six new players as they prepare for the upcoming OFC Professional League set to commence next month. The team has welcomed Mohammed Ayman, Thomas Dunn, Veleni Rasorewa, Josaia Sela, Delon Shankar, and Sterling Vasconcellos to their roster.

Bula FC, recognized as Fiji’s first professional football club, will participate in the inaugural season of the OFC Professional League. This historic opportunity marks a significant advancement for the club and its players.

Ayman expressed his excitement, noting the pivotal role his family has played in encouraging him to pursue his football aspirations. “This is a huge step in my football career. My dad and siblings encouraged me to play and take up the opportunity,” he shared.

Dunn echoed similar sentiments, stating that joining Bula FC presents a new and enriching experience. “I feel good being a part of this setup. It’s something new, it’s a whole new experience which I can learn from,” he remarked.

Rasorewa, the youngest of the new signings at just 17, described the achievement as the “icing on the cake.” He relayed his commitment to improving himself and contributing to the club, saying, “I’ve worked hard for this and there’s still a lot to learn, but I’m ready to push myself, grow and give everything for the club.”

Sela further highlighted the personal significance of his signing, stating, “I was looking for this when I was a kid. I was dreaming of being a professional player, so yes, it’s an opportunity for me to showcase my talent.”

Shankar noted the impact this opportunity will have on his family’s financial stability, while Vasconcellos expressed his deep gratitude for the chance to join the team. “It’s a blessing; I have been praying for this chance and I hope everything goes well for me,” he said.

The opening matches of the OFC Professional League are scheduled to take place from January 17-24 in Auckland, New Zealand, marking a significant milestone for Bula FC and its players as they embark on this new chapter in Fiji’s football history.
