Lew Evans, a former basketball player for the University of Tennessee, has been announced as one of the contestants in Season 22 of “‘The Bachelorette,” which is set to premiere on March 22 on ABC. At 32 years old, Evans will compete for the affections of TikTok influencer and star of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Lives,” Taylor Frankie Paul.

Evans, who stands 6-foot-7, had a varied college basketball career prior to the era of modern transfer regulations. He began his journey at Casper College in 2012-2013 before transferring to Tulsa for his sophomore season. His path eventually led him to Utah State, where he had to sit out the 2014-2015 season due to transfer rules. After one season with the Aggies, he concluded his collegiate career at Tennessee, where he played during the 2016-2017 season, averaging 3.4 points and 2.8 rebounds across 32 games. Unfortunately, Tennessee finished the season with a 16-16 record, falling short of an NCAA tournament berth.

Following his graduation, Evans returned to Salt Lake City and embarked on a career in the insurance technology sector. His diverse experiences in sports and business may bring an intriguing perspective to the reality dating show.

This announcement is creating buzz as fans of “The Bachelorette” eagerly await to see how Evans and the rest of the contestants will engage with Paul and navigate the complexities of love in the spotlight.
