Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems has released the official trailer and poster for Stage 6 Films’ Sisu: Road to Revenge, the sequel to the Finnish action hit Sisu. The film is set to open in U.S. theaters on November 21, 2025.
Written and directed by Finnish filmmaker Jalmari Helander, the film reunites Jorma Tommila in the lead role, joined by Richard Brake and Stephen Lang. In Sisu: Road to Revenge, the legendary “man who refuses to die” returns to the house where his family was murdered during the war. He dismantles the house, loads it onto a truck, and vows to rebuild it somewhere safe in their honor. The pursuit begins when the Red Army commander who killed his family reappears, intent on finishing the job, igniting a relentless cross-country chase packed with eye-popping action and inventive set pieces.
Petri Jokiranta produced the film through Subzero Film Entertainment, with Gregory Ouanhon and Antonio Salas serving as executive producers. The production is supported by a broad slate of backers, including the Finnish Film Foundation, Film Estonia, Business Finland – Audiovisual Production Incentive, Film Tampere, Viru Film Fund, and BNP Paribas – COFILOISIRS, with additional support from IFCIC. Stage 6 Film’s Eric Charles oversaw development and production for the studio, which holds the global rights.
The original Sisu made its world premiere in the Midnight Madness section at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival and later earned recognition at Sitges Film Festival, where it won Best Feature Film, Best Actor, Best Cinematography, and Best Original Music. Subzero Film Entertainment, founded in 2012 by producer Petri Jokiranta and director Jalmari Helander, has continued to champion high-concept genre projects under Helander’s direction. The banner’s credits include Big Game (2015) with Samuel L. Jackson and Jim Broadbent and the acclaimed Sisu (2022), which opened in US theaters in the top 10 and performed well worldwide.
Good Chaos, a London-based production company led by Mike Goodridge, is backing Sisu: Road to Revenge alongside upcoming titles such as The Ballad of a Small Player, Orphan, and Left-Handed Girl. In 2024, Good Chaos was responsible for two international Oscar submissions: Baltasar Kormákur’s Touch (Iceland) and Sandhya Suri’s Santosh (UK). Their past credits also include Triangle of Sadness, Quo Vadis, Aida?, Tchaikovsky’s Wife, Club Zero, and Sisu.
This collaboration signals a robust cross-border approach to financing and producing ambitious genre cinema, with Helander’s distinctive vision once again driving a high-octane continuation of the Sisu story.
