Excitement is palpable in Sigatoka as the Super 7s Qualifier for the 2026 McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji Sevens prepares to kick off this Saturday at Lawaqa Park. Organizers have officially announced the pools and fixtures for what is anticipated to be one of the most competitive qualifying tournaments to date, featuring twenty-eight local teams vying for just seven coveted spots in the main event scheduled for January.
Tournament Director Randall Kamea expressed confidence in the tournament’s preparations, stating that organizers are excited to witness an array of strong and fast-paced rugby throughout the one-day event.
In Pool A, teams such as Devo Babas, Island Magic Daveta, Tubarua Highlanders, and C3 Brothers will showcase a mix of experience and flair, along with grit and physicality. Pool B brings together Ratu Filise, Kesenavunivalu Rugby, Suva Stallions, and St Gabriel Nakavika, where Ratu Filise is tipped to set the early pace while their competitors strive to keep up.
Pool C is composed of Uso Tasi Rugby, Lami Cavaliers, Pegasus Rugby, and Yaro Chiefs, promising a balanced competition where any team could emerge victorious. Meanwhile, Pool D includes Covenant Rugby, Ravuka Sharks, Yalova Spearhead, and Dominion Brothers, forming a group characterized by power and structure, with each team eager to demonstrate their finishing capabilities.
