The Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji recently convened its 67th Annual General Meeting at Pt Shreedhar Maharaj College, marking a significant milestone for the organization. National President Dhirendra Nand emphasized the Sabha’s commitment to enhancing youth engagement, improving community service, and broadening educational opportunities across Fiji.
A noteworthy development from the meeting was the integration of the former Youth and Sports Wings into the newly formed Sanatan Youth and Sports Wing. This restructuring aims to empower young leaders and foster sportsmanship among the youth. The Sabha also unveiled a new official flag that upholds the organization’s colors of yellow, red, and orange, symbolizing unity, resilience, and a progressive vision for Sanatan Fiji.
Among the initiatives discussed were plans to bolster governance within Sanatan schools, forge partnerships with the Fiji Prison Department and Pacific Health Specialists, and advocate against smoking and alcohol within religious premises. Additionally, the Sabha intends to establish a Northern Headquarters in Vanua Levu, embark on a Gau Shala project in the Western Division, and create a counseling center. The launch of a new official website aims to enhance connectivity among members both locally and internationally.
This meeting illustrates the Sabha’s ongoing focus on “Unity, Faith, and Service,” as reaffirmed by President Nand, who is enthusiastic about working with all Sanatanis to achieve further milestones. Past gatherings have also highlighted the Sabha’s role in promoting national unity and societal well-being through educational initiatives and social services.
The Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha continues to be an integral faith-based organization in Fiji, upholding cultural heritage while adapting to contemporary needs. Its efforts align with broader societal goals of fostering inclusion, resilience, and community empowerment amidst Fiji’s diverse cultural landscape.
