Food City Center has revealed the reason behind its intriguing social media post featuring a man with a television set for a head: Shinedown will be performing at the venue. The concert is scheduled for July 25 at Thompson-Boling Arena and is part of the band’s Dance, Kid, Dance Act II world tour. Tickets will go on sale starting at 10 a.m. on February 20 through Ticketmaster.

This tour is in promotion of Shinedown’s upcoming album “EI8HT,” set to be released on May 29. The group has already dropped four singles in 2025, including chart-toppers “Dance, Kid, Dance” and “Killing Fields,” along with their latest release, “Searchlight.”

Recently, Shinedown withdrew from Kid Rock’s “Rock the Country” music festival, voicing their commitment to unity and stating, “Our band’s purpose is to unite, not divide. … (We) do not want to participate in something we believe will create further division.”

Having secured 21 No. 1 songs on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart over the past two decades, Shinedown has produced notable hits such as “Second Chance,” “Sound of Madness,” and “If You Only Knew.”

Brent Smith, the lead vocalist and a native of Knoxville, has expressed deep affection for his hometown. In a 2022 conversation with Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs, he shared fond memories of his upbringing there, highlighting his parents’ influence and the musical roots he developed in the city. He was honored with a key to Knox County during a Shinedown concert at Thompson-Boling Arena, a gesture presented to him by Jacobs.

Tragically, earlier this month, Smith announced the passing of his mother, Patricia Ann Smith, reflecting on her love and the significant impact she had on his life in a heartfelt social media tribute.

The concert promises to be a memorable event, uniting fans through the power of rock music, and furthering Shinedown’s legacy in the industry.
