Shania Twain captivated attendees in a shimmering dark denim halter gown as she graced the red carpet at the second annual People’s Choice Country Awards on Thursday in Nashville. The fitted mermaid-style dress boasted a ‘70s-inspired dagger collar, a subtle sweep train, and an array of rhinestones that dazzled more prominently at the bodice and hem.
The striking gown was a custom creation in collaboration with Levi’s, reflecting Twain’s personal touch. Her design was influenced by the men in her grandparents’ country music circles, known for wearing bejeweled attire.
To complement her look, Twain wore long elbow-length gloves adorned with rhinestones that matched the collar of her dress, along with a sizable diamond ring on her pinky. She styled her hair in a retro ‘60s shoulder-length bob.
At the inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards in December 2022, Twain was honored with the People’s Music Icon Award. This year, she has received a nomination for best “Concert Tour of 2024” for her Las Vegas residency show, “Shania Twain: Come On Over – The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits!”
Her latest show on the Las Vegas Strip kicked off in May at Bakkt Theater in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, with performances scheduled through February 2025. Fellow nominees for the award include Luke Combs, Jason Aldean, Morgan Wallen, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and Zach Bryan.
Zach Bryan leads this year’s nominations with 19, while Beyoncé follows with 17 nominations. Notably, Beyoncé’s nominations stand out since she received no nominations for the upcoming 2024 Country Music Awards set for November.
Earlier this year, Twain, recognized as the best-selling female country artist of all time, was honored as a Barbie doll. To celebrate International Women’s Day, Mattel selected her as one of eight unique “role model” dolls inspired by prominent women around the world.
The People’s Choice Country Awards took place at the Grand Ole Opry and were hosted by Shania Twain herself. The event featured honorary Country Icon Award recipient Miranda Lambert, with performances by Kane Brown, Keith Urban, and Lady A. The awards show was broadcast live on NBC and available for streaming on Peacock.
