Country music sensation Shania Twain dazzled in a sparkly dark denim halter gown as she graced the red carpet at the second annual People’s Choice Country Awards on Thursday in Nashville. The stunning mermaid-style dress, designed in collaboration with Levi’s, featured a vintage-inspired dagger collar and a subtle sweeping train adorned with rhinestones concentrated at both the top and bottom.
Twain’s gown was custom-designed, reflecting her personal style and influenced by the glamorous crystal-embellished fashion of country music icons from her grandparents’ era. She paired the look with long, embroidered rhinestone elbow gloves that featured matching sparkly cuffs, and her ensemble was accentuated by a striking diamond ring worn on her gloved pinky. Her hair was styled in a ’60s-inspired shoulder-length bob, adding to her retro aesthetic.
At the inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards in December 2022, Twain received the People’s Music Icon Award. This year, she is nominated for the “Concert Tour of 2024” award for her Las Vegas residency, “Shania Twain: Come On Over – The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits!” which began its third run in May at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and will continue through February 2025. Her competition includes notable names such as Luke Combs, Jason Aldean, Morgan Wallen, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and Zach Bryan.
Leading the nominations this year is Zach Bryan with 19 nods, followed closely by Beyoncé with 17. It’s noteworthy that Beyoncé did not receive any nominations for the upcoming 2024 Country Music Awards set for November.
Earlier this year, Twain, recognized as the best-selling female country artist of all time, was celebrated by Mattel as a Barbie doll in honor of International Women’s Day, alongside seven other distinguished global figures.
The second annual People’s Choice Country Awards were held at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, hosted by Twain herself. Miranda Lambert was honored with the Country Icon Award, and performances included Kane Brown, Keith Urban, and Lady A. The ceremony was broadcast live on NBC and available for streaming on Peacock.
