Shakira wowed the audience with a dynamic halftime show performance during the Copa América Final between Argentina and Colombia at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on Sunday.
The show featured advanced AI elements, including a strikingly large she-wolf that howled at the beginning alongside floating vehicles. Shakira then appeared from beneath the stage, dazzling in a silver, sparkly outfit. Performing her hit “Hips Don’t Lie” with a troupe of dancers and thrilling pyrotechnics, she energized the crowd and proudly proclaimed, “Te quiero Colombia!”
Her performances of “Te Felicito,” “TQG,” and “Puntería” from her latest album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” were visually stunning with green flames, floating red jewels, and neon green waves engulfing the stage.
Shakira is set to embark on a world tour starting November 2 at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California, marking her first tour since 2018. In a feature with Rolling Stone, she mentioned, “I think this is going to be the biggest in my career so far, the most extensive, with the most range. It’s also going to be the longest.” She anticipates the concerts will extend beyond her usual 90 minutes to over two hours.
The goal of her upcoming shows, as she stated in her interview, is to empower her fans. She emphasized her desire to create stage designs that bring her closer to the audience, stating, “My fans have been having a dialogue with me: I’ve spoken and they’ve listened, and they speak and I listen and learn from their experiences. Because just like me, there’s a million she-wolves in the world, getting ready to go into battle and finding their way.”
