Fincantieri’s shipyard in Marghera, Italy, has celebrated a major accomplishment with the float-out of a luxurious new cruise ship for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Named the Seven Seas Prestige, this vessel represents the inaugural entry in a new class of ultra-luxury cruise ships, symbolizing the growth and evolution of this high-end market and reinforcing the longstanding relationship between Regent and the renowned shipyard.

Upon completion, Seven Seas Prestige will have a significant weight of 76,550 gross tons and a remarkable length of 257 meters (843 feet). Notably, while the ship is designed to be 40% larger than its predecessors, it will accommodate only 10% more passengers for a total of 822 guests, alongside a crew of 630. This design choice results in one of the industry’s highest crew-to-passenger ratios, ensuring guests receive personalized service throughout their journey.

A highlight of the Seven Seas Prestige will be the Skyview Regent Suite, set to be the most expansive suite ever featured on a cruise ship, covering nearly 9,000 square feet. This extraordinary suite will come equipped with a spa bath, a private gym, and an in-suite elevator. In total, the ship will offer 411 suites, including four new categories aimed at enhancing the overall guest experience.

Onboard dining will be diverse and indulgent, featuring a Mediterranean concept among its 11 distinctive venues, which include seven specialty restaurants. This culinary variety underscores Regent’s commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Jason Montague, chief luxury officer at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, highlighted that the introduction of this vessel is part of a larger strategy to expand within the luxury cruise market. He expressed confidence in the rising demand for Regent’s premium offerings and emphasized the robust collaboration with Fincantieri, founded on a mutual dedication to craftsmanship and quality.

As the ultra-luxury cruise sector witnesses notable growth—evidenced by the entry of prestigious hotel brands such as Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons—the launch of the Seven Seas Prestige represents an exciting advancement for Regent Seven Seas Cruises. This ship exemplifies the brand’s commitment to innovation and unparalleled luxury, promising unforgettable journeys for travelers seeking the highest standards in cruise travel.
