Seven exciting new floats are set to make their debut during the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, promising to enhance the festive atmosphere of this beloved event. The new floats, crafted by the skilled artisans at Macy’s Parade Studio, reveal a blend of creativity and pop culture.
A preview of the floats showcased a variety of themes, including “The Land of Glaciers, Wildlife & Wonder” by Holland America Line, “Brick-tastic Winter Mountain” from The LEGO Group, and “Master Chocolatier Ballroom” by Lindt. Other notable entries include “Upside Down Invasion: Stranger Things” presented by Netflix, “Friends-giving in POPCITY” created by Pop Mart, and “The Counting Sheep’s Dream Generator” by Serta. Rounding out the new offerings is “The Littlest Float” from Goldfish.
Brendan Kennedy, Director of Creative Production at Macy’s, expressed excitement about the float inspired by the hit series “Stranger Things.” He revealed that an eight-and-a-half-foot tall Demogorgon will be featured, hinting at a thrilling experience for parade-goers.
The artisans dedicate an entire year to the perfecting these floats, emphasizing Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as a reflection of contemporary pop culture. Kennedy noted, “This is truly the yearbook of what’s going on out there,” making it clear that the parade continually evolves to engage its audience.
One of the standout highlights this year is the highly anticipated Labubu float, which has garnered significant attention. Kennedy remarked on the innovative nature of Pop Mart’s floating designs, noting that Labubu and Lacoco are the first-ever 16-foot inflatable furry balloons in the parade’s long history.
This year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is poised to celebrate creativity and popular culture, bringing together the joyous spirit of the holiday season with inventive designs sure to delight families and audiences worldwide. As the parade approaches, the countdown is on for what promises to be a magical and memorable event.
