Mexican actor Sergio Sendel is taking on a villainous role that extends beyond traditional telenovelas. Last night, during the premiere of “Top Chef VIP 4,” Sendel found himself in a prominent position on the show.

In this new season, chefs Antonio de Livier and Tita are joined by Betty Vázquez, who has been a standout figure on “MasterChef México” for years. Vázquez is known for her confrontational style with contestants, and in “Top Chef VIP,” the dynamic remains intense.

During a challenge where contestants were tasked with preparing a dish that evokes an emotional experience, Sendel presented an Alfredo pasta. His choice was met with scrutiny from Vázquez, who questioned how the dish represented a significant moment in his life. Sendel candidly replied, “Very little. It represents nothing except today, as I made the decision to embark on this adventure and take the risk of saying yes to this challenge and the project.”

Vázquez urged Sendel to reveal a more vulnerable side, asking, “Would you dare to open your heart a little to us?” However, the actor maintained his composure, stating it would not be possible. Vázquez noted that this detachment made it more challenging to evaluate his dish. Sendel further said, “I should try because this show is not dedicated to family.”

As the episode progressed, tension mounted during the evaluations, but Sendel managed to lighten the mood with a humorous remark: “I put, first of all, enthusiasm. And then, eh… concentration. I think my pasta was, generally speaking, correct.”
