Police have heightened security measures in Nadi as the town prepares for the highly anticipated UB40 concert at King Charles Park later today. Divisional Police Commander for the Western Division, SSP Iakobo Vaisewa, emphasized that the police are well-prepared to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for all attendees.
“We are fully gearing up for it, and our goal is to make it an incident-free and crime-free concert,” stated SSP Vaisewa. To achieve this, specialized police resources, including the use of the K9 unit and advanced surveillance technology, will be deployed.
Concert-goers can expect thorough searches at entry points, as well as spot checks on anyone deemed suspicious. SSP Vaisewa strongly cautioned against engaging in illegal activities, especially those related to alcohol, ensuring that law enforcement will be vigilant throughout the event.
A significant police presence will also be evident in Nadi Town, Namaka, and along the Lautoka corridor, as authorities work to maintain order and safety in the area during the concert festivities. This proactive approach highlights the commitment to providing a secure environment for what promises to be an exciting and memorable evening for UB40 fans.
