Seattle Celebrates Summer: Exciting Pride Festivities and More!

Seattle is buzzing with activity this weekend as the summer season heats up and the end of June approaches. A variety of events are taking place, highlighted by the region’s vibrant Pride celebrations.

Capitol Hill will be alive with PrideFest on Saturday, featuring five blocks of street festivities, a makers village, and more at Cal Anderson Park. On Sunday, the celebrations continue at the Seattle Center with three stages showcasing over 100 artists. PrideFest runs both days from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., welcoming attendees of all ages to enjoy the festivities for free.

The annual Pride Parade will take over downtown Seattle on Sunday, kicking off at 11 a.m. at Fourth and Pike and concluding at Denny Way. A pre-parade party will be held at Westlake Park, promising a lively atmosphere ahead of the main procession.

Adding to the weekend’s excitement, Alki Beach will welcome the Seafair Pirates Landing, where swashbucklers will make their appearance around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, offering entertaining tales and treasures for kids.

Movie lovers can enjoy the Seattle Symphony’s performance of the score for “Barbie” at Benaroya Hall on both Friday and Saturday. This unique experience combines film with live music, along with pre-show activities like a photo booth.

Two free street fairs will also take place: Urban Craft Uprising’s Gobble Up at Lake Union Park with over 80 local food and beverage vendors, and the Greenwood Car Show featuring classic cars, themed activities for children, and live entertainment.

For car enthusiasts, the summer’s first Motors and Movies event at LeMay-America’s Car Museum in Tacoma begins Friday night, showcasing the 2007 version of “Transformers” on a 40-foot outdoor screen.

Celebratory early 4th of July activities will kick off with Freedom Fest at Joint Base Lewis-McChord on Saturday, featuring carnival rides, games, food trucks, live music, and a spectacular fireworks display.

The Bremerton Bridge Blast will also take place on Saturday, hosting a boardwalk festival from noon until 10:15 p.m., alongside another fireworks show. This event is free and offers a chance to enjoy the waterfront with food trucks and plenty of picnic space.
